Cephonodes kingii Gardenia Bee Hawk is found in all Australian states except South Australia and Tasmania. We have seen the moth between December and April. It is diurnal and can be seen during the day feeding on flowers.
Larval Foodplant
In Dorrigo the larva feeds on cultivated Gardenia. Although they occur in Dorrigo we have yet to see them here at Claire Cottage. We have, however, raised larvae sourced from elsewhere.
