Cizara ardeniae Coprosma Hawk Moth occurs in Australia in Queensland and New South Wales. At Claire Cottage we have seen it from September to February. The moths buzz around our flowering Buddleia in early summer evenings to pause momentarily to dip their proboscis in a blossom to feed on nectar.
Larval Foodplant
The larva feeds here on RUBIACEAE: Gynochthodes jasminoides (syn-Morinda jasminoides), Coprosma repens*
Pupation
The larva pupates in leaf litter on the ground, webbing leaves together in a loose cocoon.
