Coequosa australasiae

Coequosa australasiae

Coequosa australasiae occurs down the east coast of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. We have seen this species in February and March.

The number of instars a larva passes through – either six or seven – depends on climate. The one we raised had seven instars. During cold weather in winter 5th instar larvae growth slows and it sits immobile for several days or weeks.

Larval foodplants

Eucalyptus nobilis white gum; E. elata river peppermint; E. saligna Sydney blue gum; E. tereticornis Queensland blue gum or forest red gum; Corymbia citriodora.
