Subfamily: ZEUZERINAE

Endoxyla cinereus Giant Wood Moth
Endoxyla cinereus occurs in all Australian states and territories except Tasmania. We have seen this moth in January and February.

Larval Foodplant
The caterpillars bore into the wood of Eucalyptus species and pupate in their borehole. After the moth hatches the empty pupal case is left protruding from the hole.
Pupation takes place in the larval tunnel.
