Herpetogramma licarsisalis Grass Webworm
This is a common moth here and we have photographed it from January to May but it may occur in other months. It can be seen during the day settled in the grass. When disturbed it is a favourite of Grey Fantails.

The caterpillars live in a tube made of leaves of its food plant, lined with silk, at the soil surface.
