Family: Xyloryctidae



Xylorycta luteotactella is found in Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria. We have seen this moth in November.
The caterpillars feed on a variety of plants. The eggs are laid singly in the leaf axils of the plant. The caterpillars bore into the stems and live in the tunnels or in silken gallery made from joined foliage and frass.
